The institute
A place to learn translation between Arabic, French and English.
Al-Usfur Institute is a language school built around one craft: carrying meaning, tone and cultural nuance from Arabic into French or English, and back again. The program is open to beginners and to people who already translate and want a more disciplined method.
What the school is for
Professional translation is more than a dictionary. A text has a register, an audience and a context. The institute trains students to notice those things in Arabic, then to rebuild them in French or English without flattening the voice of the original.
Classes take place in Muscat. Students also work through downloadable materials and assignments that imitate real translation jobs, with written feedback from instructors. At the end of the pathway, the institute issues a certificate of completion.
For people already working
Deadlines stay flexible. Instructors follow students who study on site in Muscat and those who need to keep part of the work remote.

How study is organized
The published pathway has three movements: a linguistic diagnostic, a simulation of what student life looks like at your level, and a simplified pre-application file. The teaching itself relies on understandable input just above your current level, and on review spaced out over time so vocabulary and structures stay available when you translate.
